How Did The Pizza Shack Get Started?
In 1985, John and Claudia Simmons started The Pizza Shack with David, Glen, and Darren Kiely. They began in a small house in Willis with a KitchenAid mixer and a home oven.
They missed the pizza they grew up with back East. So they made their own. It took off. By 1997, they built a new place just behind the first one. In 2003, they opened in Montgomery and started a catering arm called Danello's.
In 2018, the Montgomery spot moved to a bigger building on Stewart Creek Road. Family members still help run both places.

Hand-tossed pizza
The dough is made fresh each day. The Shack Special is piled with meats and veggies.
